CPO Course Options

Option 1

CPO® Certification Blended Training

The NSPF® Certified Pool/Spa Operator® (CPO®) Certification program, the world’s leading verifiable pool and spa training credential, is now available as a blended training program.

We are happy to provide the most accommodation we can to serve our customers who are primarily Spanish speakers first.  You may order the Pool Operator Primer™, your textbook, and your Exam to all be in Spanish.  However, the Day 2 Classroom session will be delivered in English only.

Step 1:Pool Operator Primer™ (Online Training)

The Pool Operator Primer™ is the 1st step to earning the CPO® Certification, and prerequisite for the Pool Operator Fusion™ (or Day 2 of the Classroom) training, using the blended format training course (or, it can be an excellent stand-alone education in the fundamentals of pool operations).

– The online curriculum consists of 8 lessons that cover all 18 chapters in the Pool/ Spa Operator Handbook®, which is provided as part of the training.
– There is a test at the end of each lesson, for which you must achieve a 100% on each. (If you don’t score 100% on a lesson, the program will direct you to review the material again and retake the lesson test until you do score 100%)
– You may take up to 6 months to complete the online Pool Operator Primer™
– You may sign in and out as many times as you want
– Successful completion of the Online Pool Operator Primer™ earns the student a Record of Completion, which you must be able to print from your computer
– You MUST print your Record of Completion PRIOR to attending Day 2 of the Classroom training. (You then have 6 months to complete your training with an instructor and take your CPO® written exam)
– This Pool Operator Primer™ Record of Completion certificate must be presented at the Day 2 classroom training for admittance and to take the CPO® exam
– The Pool Operator Primer™ alone does NOT earn the CPO® Certification

STEP 2: Pool Operator Fusion™/ DAY 2 CLASSROOM

This is the one-day training offered by NSPF Instructors, which will be the second day of the two-day classroom CPO® Certification course.

– Students must present a Pool Operator Primer™ Record of Completion and successfully complete Day 2 of the Classroom; including a passing the CPO® written exam; to earn the CPO® certification
– Each student’s identity will be VERIFIFED by checking a valid government issued photo I.D. PRIOR to the student attending the Pool Operator Fusion™ Course
– The Record of Completion must also be signed by the student attesting to the fact that they independently completed the online portion of the training program
– At the end of Day 2; you take the 3 hour CPO® exam (open book & open note)
– You need 75% score or better to pass the CPO® exam
– Once you pass, you will receive a national certification in 4-6 weeks.
– The CPO® certification is valid for 5 years.

Option 2

2-Day Classroom Course

NSPF certifies those persons who successfully complete the 16 hours of Certified Pool/Spa Operator® instruction and pass the examination.
9am – 6pm; both days.
– 2 class days; 14-16 hours
– At the end of Day 2; you take the 3 hour CPO® exam (open book & open note).
– You need 75% score or better to pass the CPO® exam.
– Once you pass, you will receive a national certification in 4-6 weeks.
– The CPO® certification is valid for 5 years.
