One word comes to mind for all parents with young children when finding the right program to teach their kids how to swim: SAFETY.
In the south Florida environment we are surrounded by water, and getting your child comfortable in water is an absolute priority for parents. We provide the most educated swim instructors in south Florida. Team FLA does extensive background screenings of all instructors, through USA swimming and local law enforcement to ensure your child will be safe, have fun, and learn to swim throughout the duration of your time in the program. Remember, the safety and well-being of your child is priority number one for you, and it is priority number one with FLA Swim School as well. We believe that learning to swim is a skill just like learning to play a musical instrument. A child needs formal, regularly scheduled instruction as part of his / her normal week and then is encouraged to practice. The family makes a minimal weekly time commitment (1 or 2 times per week for a 30-minute class) and makes swimming class a part of the child’s regular schedule. Mental and physical learning occurs best in this type of environment as previously taught skills can be reviewed and reinforced, new skills can be introduced, and physical conditioning and adaptation can take place. Children are highly encouraged to stay with the FLA Swim School program all the way through their graduation from the Dolphins level. Upon graduation from the FLA Swim School, children are ready to continue their swimming on the Team with the FLA Future Stars! Extra Precaution: Children should never swim anywhere without adult supervision. Whether at practice or swim class, the beach or lake, or at home; coaches, lifeguards, or adult family members should always keep a watchful eye on children. Even the strongest of swimmers can experience an unexpected emergency that will require an adult’s help. |
